Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Mike Swartz was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He began attending the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC at eight years of age. At the age of 18, during a Sunday morning message, Mike Swartz received the free gift of Salvation. Three months later, he surrendered his life for full-time Christian service and began making plans to attend Bible college. In 1996, he graduated from Bible college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. He also attended Temple Baptist Seminary in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is a graduate of Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, Washington, where he earned a Master of Divinity Degree. After graduating from Bible College, he served as Assistant Pastor for four years in North Carolina. In 2001, he planted the Lake Valley Baptist Church, Moses Lake, Washington where he was the lead pastor for over five years. In 2006, he was commissioned as an active-duty Army Chaplain and served as an Airborne Chaplain with Special Operations for over nine years before he was injured in Iraq and eventually medically retired as a Major. He was deployed twice into a combat zone for fifteen months in Iraq and then for twelve months in Afghanistan. In November 2022, Pastor Mike and wife Lesa moved back to Moses Lake and accepted the position as lead Pastor at the Lake Valley Baptist Church. Michael Swartz met his wife, Lesa (Koehn) Swartz at Bible College in 1992 and they were married on 17 July 1993. Together they have three adult children: Nathan, Grey, and River
December 26, 2024 Lake Valley Baptist Church 935 W Valley Road Moses Lake, WA 98837 Dear Lake Valley Baptist Church, I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from my position as pastor at Lake Valley Baptist Church, effective 28 February 2025. It is with a mix of emotions that my wife Lesa, and I make this decision, but after much prayer and discernment, we believe it is the right path for us at this time. Over the past two years, serving as the pastor of Lake Valley Baptist Church has been a truly transformative experience. Lesa and I are genuinely grateful for the love and support we have received from the congregation and the opportunity to serve alongside such dedicated individuals. Together as a church, we have accomplished remarkable things such as, over 4,000 doors knocked, 15 salvations, over 7 baptisms, over 12 new members, high attendance day of 91, to mention a few. Lesa and I will cherish the friendships and memories we have made here at Lake Valley Baptist Church. Lesa and I plan to continue in the field of evangelism, helping other churches, preaching, and loving people. To ensure a smooth transition, I am committed to assisting in this transitional phase. I am supporting in the search for my replacement and contributing to the ongoing ministry of Lake Valley Baptist Church. I have contacted Open Door Ministries, an organization that assists in connecting pastors with churches across America. Open Door Ministries has placed LVBC’s “Seeking Pastor” ad on its website: www.opendoor2america.com, Facebook: Open Door Ministries, and other social media platforms. To date, 7 interested pastors have submitted their resumes. The team is prayerfully reviewing each candidate’s resume packet before we introduce them to the church for consideration. I am open to assisting the incoming pastor and offering any guidance or training he may require. May God’s blessings be upon you and the entire Lake Valley Baptist Church congregation as you move forward. Thank you once again for everything. In Christ Service, Pastor Mike Swartz
Who is Jesus?
Everyone seems to have their own opinion, but have you ever opened the Bible for yourself to see Who Jesus is? Jesus was more than a good man, great teacher, or revolutionary. Jesus Himself poses the question to you today, "Who do you say that I am?" The answer will change your life forever. Please click below to find the answer to this important question.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
